Celebrating Mums on International Women’s Day

Today is International Women's Day. It is a day when people celebrate the strength and courage of women.

Today I want to celebrate my mum.

My mum has always been my biggest champion. She believed in me when things were hard. She stood up for me and fought for me so I could do well in a world that was not always designed for someone like me.

When people did not understand me, my mum understood.
When things felt difficult, my mum kept going.
When doors were closed, my mum helped open them.

Because of her love and support, I have been able to grow, learn, and become the person I am today. She helped me learn to love who I am.

But today is not only about my mum. Today I also want to celebrate all the mums who fight for their children every day.

The mums who speak up when their child is not being heard.
The mums who keep asking for the support their child needs.
The mums who refuse to give up.

You are warriors for your children.

Through Perfect Creation and my Embrace Your Uniqueness characters, I want to help create a world where differences are celebrated and not judged.

To all the mums who are fighting for their children, I want to say:

Your love matters.
Your voice matters.
Your fight matters.

Every time you stand up for your child, you are helping make the world more kind, more understanding, and more inclusive.

So today I celebrate my mum — my champion.

And I celebrate every mum who is helping their child thrive in this world.

Because being different does not mean less. Being different is something to be proud of.
