The Founder's Story: Being Me and Learning to Love My Differences

Life hasn’t been easy for me. I have a learning disability and a type of hearing loss called sensory-neural hearing loss. Sometimes, I felt like I didn’t fit in or wasn’t as good as other people. It was tough trying to find my place in the world.

But even with these struggles, I’ve learned something very important: I am perfectly created by God. This belief has helped me accept myself and embrace the things that make me unique. I’ve learned to see my strengths and accept my challenges, and that gave me the courage to follow my dreams.

Drawing is something I love so much. It’s how I show who I am and how I feel inside. But it hasn’t always been easy. Some people said my drawings weren’t good enough, and that hurt my feelings. Over time, I’ve learned that everyone has their own way of seeing things, and that’s okay.

Instead of giving up, I used my love for drawing to create something special. That’s how the "Embrace Your Uniqueness" family came to life. These characters show my belief that everyone is a mix of things that make them special. In a world where people try so hard to fit in, I want to remind everyone to stand out and be proud of who they are.

With the help of Mora Akioye from MOA Designs, my drawings became designs, and the "Embrace Your Uniqueness" characters were born. My hope is that these characters remind you to feel proud of yourself and love who you are – just like I do.

Let’s celebrate what makes us different, because that’s what makes us special!
